POS and Catalogue — Sell In Person
Overview
POS and Catalogue lets physical product stores sell in person with the same catalog as your ecommerce website. Ring up cash sales at the register, park a cart and resume it later, print barcode stickers, and share a browse-only catalogue link for walk-in customers.
Who can use it
POS is available on plans that include POS and Catalogue, and only for physical product stores. Creator Store and Services stores do not get the register. If you do not see Point of Sale in the sidebar, check your plan on kudita.com/pricing.
Open Point of Sale
In the vendor dashboard sidebar, open Point of Sale:
- Dashboard — today's sales, open held carts, and shortcuts.
- Register — the checkout screen for in-person sales.
- Reports — POS sales history and totals (separate from online Orders).
- Barcode Stickers — print product labels to scan at the counter.
- Settings — optional VAT, receipt footer, sticker defaults, and your public catalogue link.
Make a sale on the register
- Go to Point of Sale → Register.
- Search by name, tap a product, or scan a barcode.
- Choose a variant if the product has options (size, color).
- Assign a walk-in customer or pick an existing online customer.
- Tap Cash to complete the sale.
- Print or save the receipt when the browser print dialog opens.
Hold & resume
If a shopper steps aside, park the cart with Hold. Resume it later from the register or POS Dashboard — items stay in the held cart until you complete or cancel the sale.
POS sales vs online orders
In-person POS sales are recorded in Point of Sale → Reports. They do not mix into your online Orders list, so website checkouts stay separate from counter sales. Stock still decreases from the same product catalog.
Public catalogue
Share a browse-only catalogue so customers can see products and prices on their phones while they are in your shop.
- Open Point of Sale → Settings.
- Copy the public catalogue link.
- Share it in WhatsApp, print a QR, or show it at the counter.
The catalogue uses the same published products as your ecommerce website. It is for browsing — checkout still happens at the register or on your website.
Barcode stickers
- Open Point of Sale → Barcode Stickers.
- Select products and print labels (name, price, SKU, and barcode as configured in Settings).
- Stick them on shelves or items so staff can scan instead of searching by name.
Settings
- VAT / tax — optional tax name and rate on POS sales.
- Receipt footer — a short note printed at the bottom of receipts.
- Sticker defaults — label size and which fields to show.
Troubleshooting
- No Point of Sale menu — your plan may not include POS and Catalogue, or the store is not a physical product store.
- Product missing on the register — confirm it is published and visible on your ecommerce website.
